RONALD REAGAN

“Death Valley Days” is an American anthology series that ran 15 years on radio and 23 years on television in syndication. The show featured true stories of the old west, particularly focused on the Death Valley area in the American Southwest. The show had four hosts, the second of which was Ronald Reagan from 1964 to 1965. Reagan acted in 21 episodes during his tenure. When he entered the race for governor of California, he passed the show off to friend Robert Taylor, whose job as host is also featured in the Vintage TV Art collection. Production of new shows ceased in 1970, and Merle Haggard updated the existing shows with new narration for the next 5 years. The show was sponsored by “20 Mule Team Borax”, and the familiar stagecoach logo was a perfect fit. Combining the radio and television years, “Death Valley Days” is one of the longest-running western series in American history.
