TWILIGHT ZONE

Twilight Zone is perhaps the most influential television show from the Science Fiction and Fantasy genres. in 2004 TV Guide ranked Rod Serling, the show’s creator, as #1 on the list of “25 Greatest Sci Fi Legends,” the only real person on the list. The road to television success was not easy for Rod Serling. He was among the first to disagree with the intrusion of advertising and fought hard with CBS execs for creative control on Twilight Zone. He veiled his radical societal messages behind themes of alien invasion and the supernatural. The show, and Rod Serling, won two Prime Time Emmys for Outstanding Writing Achievement in Drama. This pen and ink image marked a change in the show’s development from a half-hour format to a full hour in 1962.
